Advanced Open Water Diver certification
This is the the next step in the progression of training for a SCUBA
diver that has completed an Open water scuba Diver
certification.
This program adds five additional dives to the
divers education and experience. This certification is taught during a
week end trip to Monterey. This class is entirely hands-on, in the
field.
Prerequisites:
This
certification is for people at least 15 years old. Persons from 15 to
17 requires
parent/guardian permission. (Proof
of
age required).
You
must be already certified as an Open Water diver by the YMCA or another
recognizex agency.
Forms:
All students need to fill the following forms:
- Waiver
form (PDF file) (to be signed
at the first class)
- Medical
Questionnaire form (PDF file) (IMPORTANT:
read the form and
fill it. If you are
currently under the
care of a Medical Doctor, or have a pre-existing medical condition that
requires permission from a Physician (for example, if you answered yes
to one of the questions on the medical questionnaire), you will need to
have a signed Medical Release form from your doctor before you can
participate in any in-water activities). If you need a signed Medical
Form from your doctor, take care of that now or you won't be able to
take the class !! To

Cost:
100$ Boat trip fee
100$ Instructor Fee
15$ Certification card fee (if you succeed all the tests). Optional: 15$ additional if the
student
requires a CMAS certification card.
in addition to the above, you have to provide your own
personal gear.
Note:
All students are insured through DAN for
the duration of
the class (read conditions on DAN's website by clicking
here).
Class
content:
The class
includes 5 dives. 3 are required dives and 2 are selected from an option list.
The 3 required dives include:
1. A navigation dive utilizing a compass.
2. A night dive.
3. A deep dive (greater than 50 feet, less than 100 feet)
The 2 elective dives may be from the following list:
1. Navigation dive
2. Night dive
3. Deep dive.
4. Boat dive.
5. Environmental dive
6. Drift dive
7. Search and recovery dive
8. Underwater photographydive
9. Computer assisted dive
10. Wreck dive (no penetration).
The first day, we will dive from the shore, the second day, we will dive from a boat.
If you miss the field trip, you must complete it within 30
days by special arrangement with the instructors, and an additional fee
will be charged.
The
instructor fee is to pay the instructor to teach you scuba diving,
you need to pass all open water tests to get
certified.
